Plan ₿ is a collaborative effort between the City of Lugano and Tether. The initiative is a strategic response to the growing interest in decentralized technologies and seeks to position Lugano as an innovative and forward-thinking city.

• Financial Investment:

  • Established a 100M+ CHF investment pool for startups focused on Bitcoin and blockchain technology.

  • Created a 3M CHF investment fund to help local businesses integrate Bitcoin, Tether, and LVGA payments.

• Education Initiatives:

  • Launching specialized training courses on Bitcoin and blockchain at local universities.

  • Awarding 500+ grants to students and young professionals to support education in blockchain-related fields.

• Community Hub:

  • Established PoW.Space, a co-working hub for Bitcoin and peer-to-peer technology enthusiasts, hosting over 300 people.

• Crypto Payments:

  • Bitcoin, Tether (USDt), and LVGA are accepted for paying taxes and public services.

  • A growing number of merchants in Lugano accept payments in LVGA, BTC, USDt, and offer a 10% cashback in LVGA.

• Sustainable Mining:

  • Support for the development of sustainable Bitcoin mining facilities in the region.
