In Jericoacoara, a coastal village in northeastern Brazil, many residents struggle to access basic healthcare services, particularly dental care. Among them are elderly community members and those in financial hardship who face daily discomfort and limited diets due to untreated dental issues. This impacts not just their physical health but also their confidence and quality of life.

Praia Bitcoin Smiles aims to restore dignity and health by providing free dental care to those in need. Through the power of Bitcoin and community donations, we will rent a local clinic, bring in specialized dentists, and ensure that residents receive the treatments they need—from consultations to dentures and essential care. Together, we can bring back the smiles that many thought were lost forever

The idea for Praia Bitcoin Smiles began with Rogério, a local craftsman known as Terê, who has lived in Jericoacoara since 2017. Terê was the first to conduct a Bitcoin transaction in the village, selling his craftwork to Fernando Motolese. When he found himself unable to afford dental treatment, he was inspired by the Bitcoin Smiles project in El Salvador. Determined to bring the same support to his own community, he teamed up with Praia Bitcoin to raise funds and help others in similar situations.
